JAPAN: A great success for TECHTERA cluster’s technology and trade mission!

Submitted by Lucia Seel on 19 February 2016

With its strong links woven over many years with Japan, TECHTERA wanted to develop its services through its first technology and trade mission in Tokyo, which was held from January 18 to 22, 2016. The topics covered concerned healthcare, welfare, senior citizens and sport. The six participating companies had discussions with the management of a private medical centre and were able to meet trade partners. The positive results of this now allow us to consider a follow-up to this mission; to capitalise on the contacts and make the most of everyone's commercial projects by working jointly to mutualise costs and share risks. At the same time, and as part of the Franco-Japanese “Fibertronics” study group, a team of researchers visited four academic research centres: the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Fukui University, the Kyoto Institute of Technology, and Shinshu University.
