Caerphilly County Council offers business development grants that can be used also for projects with resource efficiency potential. The grants are available for the following:

• Capital equipment (including ICT)
• Websites and e-commerce sites
• Marketing
• Feasibility studies
• Business planning

Grants: maximum £ 2 000 (discretionary grant up to 45 % of eligible project costs)  

Conditions on the issue of grants include:                                                                                                                 

• Must be established in Caerphilly County Borough or the individual a resident of Caerphilly County Borough and setting the business up in the area
• Must be in manufacturing or service to the manufacturing sector or a minimum of 60 % business-to-business (customers must be other businesses as opposed to the general public)
• Must provide a business plan with a minimum of one-year cash flow forecast and projected profit and loss
• An established business is asked to provide the last two years' accounts, plus management accounts if they are over six months old
• Two comparable quotes are also required for each capital item required
• Grants cannot be awarded retrospectively
• Must be able to demonstrate a need for the grant and how it will improve the business e.g. creation of new jobs, value for money, adoption of environmental management systems or significant private-sector investment
