The Cleaner Production Toolkit, developed by UNIDO, provides a comprehensive methodology for cleaner production and resource-efficiency projects, and relevant training. Successful projects are based on a unique combination of training, interactive exercises, motivation of trainers, extensive experience as consultants, practical implementation of options, and mutual learning.

The toolkit covers 12 volumes that include:

Each volume includes teacher’s notes and background material, which are helpful tools for the trainer or technical assistance efforts at company level. They are based on the long-term experience that cleaner production experts have acquired in different industrial sectors, and include the following:

• Examples with photos, diagrams and/or specific information
• Exercises or interactive training units with solutions and instructions
• Selected slides for presentation
• Worksheets for work in companies and/or workshops
• Checklist for workshop and company work
• Questions with solutions to check that the participants have understood the subject
