Information
Out with the old and in with the new

- Saves 85 000 kWh and € 9 300 per year
- Lowers utility bills while helping to keep the environment clean
Envel’Offset is a French printing house established in 1990 and employs around 20 people. Based in Roissy-en-Brie in Seine-et-Marne, the firm has grown steadily thanks to innovative services, including the ability to supply printed or blank envelopes within 48 hours. Management has now turned its attention to making production more environmentally friendly.
An analysis of its power consumption revealed what the company had suspected... it was way too high, especially the vacuum pumps used in production, which accounted for some 40 % of the electricity used on-site. The system was old, oversized and unregulated.
Envel’Offset managed to power down half of the pumps simply by changing its production schedule. It then deciced to replace the vacuum system altogether in favour of a variable-speed, high-efficiency pump system.
Key benefits
These simple measures resulted in a 20 % reduction in overall power consumption, which saved around €9 300 on annual power bills and increased production flexibility. On top of that, the company’s green footprint has improved.
