Sevlievo Plaza is a modern hotel located on the town square of Svoboda in Bulgaria. It is popular with locals and visitors to the region including business travellers who appreciate its conference and meeting facilities. Sevlievo Plaza has two suites, 17 deluxe rooms, 19 single rooms, 11 double rooms, a restaurant, lobby bar, Wiener café, Irish pub, fitness centre, and the conference rooms. All guest rooms have individually controlled air-conditioning, radio, telephone, mini-bar, internet connection, cable TV, and a safe.
Key results
The energy and environment measures implemented by the hotel covered several steps:
- Pre-assessment; forming of clean production (CP) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) teams, definition of the audit focus, description of the company and its stakeholder relations
- Analysis of data and performance; related to labour issues and external relations and data for consumables
- Synthesis; examination of the processes and the CSR and CP measures (options), setting out key performance indicators and estimation of their economic, ecological and social benefits
- Action plan; put in place to implement the measures and monitor the results
Monitoring the energy consumption by departments was implemented as part of a hotel-wide programme.
