r+Impuls - Innovative technologies for resource efficiency
The r+Impuls initiative by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) aims to boost R&D in resource efficiency (e.g. through pilot installations, industry-ready reference plants or mature prototypes). The programme supports high-risk and application-oriented industrial research as well as pre-competitive development projects.
Eligible projects include: facilitation of material and energy efficiency, especially in raw material-intensive production systems (such as metal production and processing, chemical or construction materials industry and ceramics industry); recovery of high-quality materials from waste streams; recycling and substitution of raw materials for key technologies and high-tech applications; material use of CO2 for chemical products and power storage.
Funding conditions:
- Companies/industry: usually up to 25 % of eligible costs
- Universities and external research institutions: up to 75 % of eligible costs
