EiA SDG 1st session
Yesterday, ENRICH in Africa (EiA) had its 1st EiA SDG session.
Here are some highlights.
“Personally, I believe that, in Africa, it works better to start small-scale and then, gradually, all the small efforts will generate the global impact that we are seeking” – Alice Abagre (Footprints Africa).
“There is an increasing indication that we need each other. But we need to treat each with respect. Africa is contributing to the well-being of Europe and we need to respect that. European countries should give a fair return for the resources they take from Africa”. – Nelson Ijumba (Africa Hub – Coventry University).
“This business model we have at the moment, seeking profit above all else, does not work for the kind of development we need” –Joanna Bingham (ACEN Ghana).
The three invited speakers were Nelson Ijumba (Africa Hub – Coventry University), Joanna Bingham (ACEN Ghana) and Alice Abagre (Footprints Africa). The session was moderated by Catarina Milhazes (EiA/SPI) and supported by André Almeida (EiA/SPI).
More sessions will come. Stay tuned and register your interest. https://enrich-in-africa-project.eu/news-1/eia-call-sdg
