Blue Economy Development Project

The project is part of Albania's Smart Specialisation process and funded by the World Bank. It aims to support capacities for sustainable management of maritime and coastal resources and "transform the general Albanian coastline, including territories, regions and related industries, into an engine of regional economic development". It will provide: "Marine Spatial Planning; Blue Economy Investment Plan; Blue Economy Innovation Center including R&D in line with the European Green Deal." In the context of the project, maritime clusters are seen as relevant enablers.
